“Learning never exhausts the mind. – Anonymous
Learning anything requires commitment and the ability to push through the uncomfortable feeling of not being very good until reaching competency. While on the path to competency, a little motivation can go a long way. It can be self motivation or motivation from outside forces, either way learning is a life long process and is really the key to success.
Audio engineer Kavon, also known as “ItsKavon” started his music journey at the young age of 12 when he had just begun mixing music and barely charged $5 – $10 per song. When it was time for him to choose his career path, he intuitively chose music and decided to keep his passion alive. To turn his passion into a career, Kavon enrolled himself into the Art Institute of Atlanta where he majored in audio & sound production. Today he is an audio engineer and owns his own music studio.
Some strategies that helped Kavon become successful in his journey are remaining humble and letting every human he would encounter be a learning opportunity. Kavon recalls, ‘I would never leave a conversation, not learning or gaining any new knowledge’. He adds, ‘look at every person you meet and talk to, as a new book off a shelf filled with information waiting to be unlocked. Always remain a student; never think you know more than the next man because that stops your mind from taking in new information, and that’s not what you want. Your goal should be to learn something new every day’. He currently lives in Greenville, South Carolina.
