Greensburg Music Fest plans 20 or more follows up on 4 midtown stages

Take it from Chris Fafalios, the Greensburg Music Fest will be “the best thing to do within hours of Greensburg.”

Fafalios and his band, Another Cheetah, will be among in excess of 20 region acts performing from 12:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 28, as Westmoreland Cultural Trust invites back unrecorded music fans to the third yearly celebration.

“Greensburg is seriously underrated. Our city is getting really cool lately,” Fafalios said.

In addition free music on four phases in the midtown region, the occasion will include food trucks, a artist market and vendors.

The Palace Theater will have main events Jim Donovan and Sun King Warriors at 6 p.m. Entryways will open at 5:30 p.m. for generaladmission seating.

Two phases will be set up in the Helman-Ghrist Parking Lot, nearby the theater and WCT’s Art in the Alley. The fourth will be behind Green Beacon Gallery at 235 W. Pittsburgh St.

‘Best of’ acts

The trust curated acts performing at The Palace and parking garage, while proprietors of Green Beacon Gallery booked their own music, with edgier demonstrations going from exemplary to independent to hip-jump and punk-inflected rock.

Coincidentally, the exhibition previously was arranging a music grandstand on Aug. 28, preceding declaration of the live performance. It seemed well and good, Seifert said, for the two elements to combine efforts.

“I love what they’re doing in bringing in different bands,” Seifert said. “A number of their acts have played at their other events, so it’s kind of a ‘best of’ list.

“We’re expecting a decent climate day,” he said. “We’re chipping away at a downpour intend to have set up, which I trust we will not need to execute. The objective is to get individuals out right on time to go through the day, and have a decent progression of individuals for the duration of the day.

“We hope they’ll stop at a bar and visit a restaurant, too,” he added.

The live concert is important for WCT’s central goal “to offer extraordinary, available amusement for the local area,” said CEO April Kopas. “WCT’s Greensburg Music Fest features the assortment and type of ability we have locally and praises the arrival of live exhibitions.”
