3 Steps To Overcome Self-Sabotaging with Lisa Lopez

Preventing ourselves from reaching our goals, no matter how much we want it, is sometimes hard to put an end to. How do we really take control of our behavior and turn it around so that valuable time no longer goes to waste?

We have talked with entrepreneur and subconscious rewiring specialist, Lisa Lopez (also known as The Lisa Lopez) to give you three effective steps to overcome your patterns of self-sabotaging today.

  • Notice the stories you are telling yourself

In order to change and eventually overcome self-sabotaging, the most important step is to become aware of what is going on in your mind. Most of the stories we tell ourselves, have been present for years without being noticed. Because of the power of your subconscious mind and how it only wants to protect you, these stories are more often than not stories that hold you back and result in self-sabotaging without you knowing why.

  • Commit to changing old patterns

Now that you can notice and observe (without judging) the patterns and beliefs that are driving your self-sabotaging behavior, you can choose to do something about it. This takes commitment and a willingness to change, which is not always comfortable, but in the long run, will pay off. Having an accountability partner, with who you verbally express your commitment to change, will lead to deeper commitment.

  • Rewrite your excuses

After committing to change, take out a pen or a pencil and get this down on paper. Working with three stories that you have previously been telling yourself that are no longer serving you at a time is ideal. Rewrite these stories and read them out loud every morning for 28 days. Some prefer to make this into a ritual while drinking their morning coffee. Read them out loud with true dedication to yourself. Notice how your behavior changes, as these new habits are slowly getting integrated and becoming a part of who you are.
