Ajay Devgn laments veteran actor Vikram Gokhale’s passing after his 82nd birthday

Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale, 82, of film, television, and stage fame, has died after a protracted illness. The actor passed away at Pune’s Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital after being in a severe state for a few days.

The actor had been receiving treatment for a few days before his condition worsened. Actor Ajay Devgn remarked in remembrance of his passing, “Sir gave the roles he played a lot of gravitas. He was usually erect. I was fortunate enough to watch movies with him. It’s terribly terrible that he passed away. He may have eternal peace, I pray. Vikram Sir, RIP. My sympathies go out to his family”.

Gokhale has appeared in a number of Marathi and Bollywood movies, such as the 1990 film “Agneepath,” which stars Amitabh Bachchan, and the 1999 film “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam,” which stars Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Vikram has also contributed significantly to Marathi film. He even went on to win the National Award for Best Actor in the Marathi movie Anumati in 2010. With the Marathi movie Aaghaat, he also made his directing debut.

In 1971, the renowned actor made his Bollywood debut in the Amitabh Bachchan-starring film “Parwana.” The film “Nikamma,” starring Shilpa Shetty and Abhimanyu Dassani, was last seen by Vikram Gokhale in June of this year.
