Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated epic “The Odyssey”celebrated its world premiere in London on Monday, drawing thousands of fans and an impressive lineup of Hollywood stars ahead of the film’s global theatrical release later this month.
The premiere took place at London’s Odeon Luxe Leicester Square, where the venue was transformed to reflect the film’s ancient Greek setting. A giant Trojan Horse installation and a sand-themed red carpet welcomed guests, creating an immersive atmosphere inspired by Homer’s legendary tale.
Director Christopher Nolan was joined by much of the film’s ensemble cast, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o and Charlize Theron. Fans gathered outside the venue hours before the event in hopes of catching a glimpse of the cast as they arrived for the premiere.
Matt Damon, who portrays the legendary Greek hero Odysseus, appeared alongside his wife, Luciana Damon, while Zendaya attracted significant attention with a Grecian-inspired outfit that paid tribute to her character, Athena. Anne Hathaway also made headlines with her elegant maternity look during the red carpet event.
“The Odyssey” marks Nolan’s latest collaboration with Universal Pictures following the success of his Academy Award-winning film “Oppenheimer.” Adapted from Homer’s classic epic poem, the movie follows Odysseus’ perilous journey home after the Trojan War, featuring mythical creatures, dangerous voyages and legendary battles.
The film has generated strong anticipation among moviegoers, with advance IMAX screenings selling quickly and industry analysts expecting it to become one of the biggest box office releases of 2026.
Following its London premiere, “The Odyssey” is scheduled to arrive in cinemas worldwide on July 17, 2026, including IMAX formats, as Nolan returns with another large-scale cinematic spectacle.
