Conservative’s On Twitter Are Doing The #MAGACHALLENGE

A new hashtag challenge has emerged – called the #MAGACHALLENGE – that calls on Republicans and conservatives to rap out a verse for their side. Some are using it to call out political adversaries, while others are simply questioning “the left” and their agenda. Love it or hate it, this trend has taken right wing circles of Twitter by storm and many people have already gotten involved.

Independent rapper Bryson Gray created the challenge on September 14 by dropping a verse and chorus on a hard-hitting rap beat and posting a video of it to Twitter. His tweet was a call-to-action, challenging people to create their own rap. The tweet read, “MAGA BOY. #MAGACHALLENGE I want y’all to your own rap to it too then tag me! Lets make liberals cry!”

Many have already taken part in the challenge, from adults, teens and even some celebrities: actor Isaiah Washington, political commentator Shemeka Michell, and online content-creator An0maly have all released their own rap videos. People from all over the country have taken the challenge to heart and are using it to let their voices be heard.

Bryson Gray has even been invited to The White House on October 4th for The Young Black Leadership Summit, (with speakers like Candace Owens and Rob Smith) now, in no small part due to his trending hashtag. According to the summit’s website, “Throughout the Summit, attendees will hear from some of the nation’s most well-known conservative leaders and activists, receive first-class professional development and leadership training, and network with other attendees and organizations from all across the country.”

What do you think of this new Twitter trend?
