Fans criticise Diljit Dosanjh’s appearance and use of Hindi in the teaser for “Chamkila”

In the Netflix film Chamkila, Diljit Dosanjh portrays Amar Singh Chamkila, the Punjabi musician with the most records sold. His fans were taken aback by his appearance.

The release of Diljit Dosanjh’s first image from his upcoming movie Chamkila stunned his admirers. The brief teaser, which Netflix posted Tuesday morning, shows the singer-actor without his turban. The actor hasn’t acknowledged that he’s wearing a wig, but it certainly appears that way. In the Imtiaz Ali movie, he portrays Amar Singh Chamkila, the musician with the most records sold in Punjab. In the film, Parineeti Chopra will play his partner Amarjot Kaur.

However, some of Diljit’s supporters expressed their dismay at seeing the actor sans the turban. “This broke my heart, this won’t work without the turban,” a fan commented. “Dil tutt gya paaji pagg bina kithe gall bann ni.” Another person said, “This is not a good haircut, si. You shouldn’t have done it.” Another asked, “Diljit nu dekh kujh adhoora adhoora kio lgg reha (why is looking incomplete)?” In support of him, a supporter also wrote, “ohdi v agla di marji aa cahye oH hair cut karvaye ya na krvaye ohda kaam aa oh (it is his wish that he wants to cut his hair or now, this is his job).”

On his Instagram Stories, Diljit also expressed his admiration for Parineeti. “AUM @parineetichopra Film ch Kamaal Kam Kita Parineeti ji ne” (Parineeti did a fantastic job). Unbelievable.” Parineeti responded to his message by writing, “THE BEST BOI, Love you my Chamkila.”
