First Dimensity 9300 phones are leaving China and heading to India and Europe

The X100 and X100 Pro, which Vivo released last month in China, are the first smartphones to use the brand-new MediaTek Dimensity 9300 flagship chipset.Details of the new flagship phones’ worldwide debut have finally been made public by the corporation.
We have confirmation from Vivo that South East Asia, Indonesia, and India will be able to purchase the X100 series. However, the X100 Pro will be the only model available in Europe.

The Chinese company announced that the X100 will retail for 5,998 Hong Kong dollars (~$768), however it did not confirm the price for India or Europe. The X100 Pro, meanwhile, will be on sale for 7,998 Hong Kong dollars, or roughly $1,024. In fairness, the Pro and Pro Plus models that came before it fetched as much as €1,300 (~$1,424) in Europe, so it wouldn’t be shocking if the X100 Pro does the same.

A 6.78-inch LTPO OLED panel, an IP68 rating, and the Dimensity 9300 chipset are some of the features that both phones share. The flexible triple rear camera arrangement and 5,400mAh battery with 100W wired/50W wireless charging make the Vivo X100 Pro stand out. These cameras are a 4.1x 50MP periscope camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP IMX989 one-inch sensor.

Additionally, the X100 Pro has a cinematic portrait mode that may be the first to seriously compete with the cinematic mode on the iPhone. That is to say, unlike the portrait video modes that are currently available on Android, the mode has the potential to automatically transition focus between subjects. Vivo also promotes a sun mode that lets you use your periscope camera to take pictures of the sun.

In the meantime, the basic X100 sports a considerably less capable triple camera configuration along with a 5,000mAh battery that can be charged with 120W of cable power—wireless top-ups are not supported. The latter has a 12MP ultrawide lens, a 64MP 3x telephoto camera, and a 50MP IMX920 primary camera.

In any case, let’s hope Vivo doesn’t take too long to actually release these phones in international regions. In early 2024, there won’t be a scarcity of high-quality flagship phones thanks to the OnePlus 12, Galaxy S24 series, and Xiaomi 14 series.
