Today, Google Fi is commemorating its tenth anniversary by launching a new line of Essentials plans, which are the most economical in the spectrum. Along with that new choice, they are also making some good improvements to their older plans, including renaming them without raising prices.
Only the first 30GB of data is at fast speeds with the new Unlimited Essentials plan, which costs $35 per month for a single line and offers unlimited speak, text, and data. And that is the strategy. Since Google didn’t tell us what else was covered, the $35 monthly fee should just cover the essentials. Registering for it is possible here.
We’re getting a few updates for the other Google Fi plans that are comparable to the recent T-Mobile announcements. Simply Unlimited has been rebranded as Unlimited Standard, which now comes with 50GB of high-speed internet (up from 35GB) and 25GB of hotspot data (up from 5GB). A single line still costs $50 a month.
The other plan, Unlimited Premium (formerly Unlimited Plus), offers 50GB of hotspot data in addition to 100GB of high-speed internet (up from 50GB). For a single line, this package still costs $65 a month.
Additional modifications for the tenth anniversary:
eSIM for tablets: For a short while, Google has permitted users of Unlimited Plus/Premium to share their mobile phone data with linked tablets using SIM cards. With data-only eSIM, you can now do the same, allowing for an even faster setup without having to order a physical SIM card.
International expansion: Google has added 54 new nations to its list of countries with 5G connections for travelers using Google Fi. We currently have 92 nations, and the iPhone is being added as a device that can benefit from this.
That’s it! Google is releasing a new Google Fi plan at $35, plus changing the names of their other plans, keeping their costs the same, and adding extra data.
