Google Maps launched a function in March that allows it to scan iPhone screenshots and store any places it finds.
Google hopes to make it easier for users to take screenshots of websites, social networking accounts, and other online content with this Gemini-powered feature. Maps will automatically recognize certain locations and store them to a list, saving users from having to go back to their gallery, remember the name, and then open Maps to look for the location.
Go to the “You” page and confirm that you are using the most recent version of Google Maps. A delightful demo instruction will play while “Screenshots” appears as a new private list.
Google will automatically recognize and display the Maps listing when you snap a screenshot that contains location data, such as names and addresses. Using a “Review” interface, you can “Save” or “Don’t Save” locations that have been highlighted. You can simply move them to other collections after it is included to the list of screenshots.
Auto-scan will automatically locate fresh screenshots with locations and display them in a carousel for your evaluation if you “Allow Access to All Photos.” As an alternative, you can manually import photos for assessment from your gallery. A noticeable “Turn on/off auto-scan” button is located beneath the carousel of screenshots.
Google Maps for iOS (US English) currently has this feature, and Android will follow.
