Google Photos is now available on Samsung TVs

Google Photos serves not only as a storage space for your images but also as an excellent platform for sharing your personal photos and videos. Occasionally, the app presents a compilation of events from a decade ago that find irresistible to view.

While this experience is enjoyable on a small screen, it becomes even more delightful when shared with friends and family on a larger display. Although some TVs have previously supported this feature, Samsung is now introducing compatibility for Google Photos on select TV models for 2026.

Currently, the availability is quite limited

This information comes directly from Google, which has announced that Photos will be accessible on compatible TV models for 2026 (as reported by Android Authority). However, this will not provide the complete app experience you would expect on your phone or the web; instead, it will showcase curated moments through the “Daily+ row, Daily+ app launcher, and Daily Board widget.”

The Daily+ row will feature “a selection of your memories that refresh automatically.” The Daily+ app launcher will enable you to view these memories in full-screen mode. Meanwhile, the Daily Board widget will display memories in a widget format. Although you won’t have the ability to browse your entire Photos library as you might wish, this will at least offer some access with a curated presentation.

Though it may not provide a comprehensive experience, it is a promising beginning. The setup process is relatively straightforward. You simply navigate to the Google Photos section on your Samsung TV, where you will find a QR code to scan with your mobile device. If you are not already signed in with a Google account on your TV, you will be prompted to do so.

After linking your account to the TV, you will need to enter a confirmation code and grant the TV access to your account. Overall, the process is quite simple. Naturally, there may be certain memories you prefer not to display or share on your TV. Therefore, it is advisable to manage which memories will be shown by accessing the Settings menu before you forget.
