There are rumors that the Google Pixel 10 will have a new function that would enhance macro photography. A recent source says that rather than depending solely on the ultra-wide lens like it did with earlier models, Google may also employ the phone’s telephoto camera to capture close-ups.
This method is known as tele-macro photography. It enables the phone’s telephoto sensor to concentrate on objects that are close up, like flowers or insects. Though Samsung temporarily employed the concept on the Galaxy Z Fold 4, many smartphone manufacturers have begun reviving it in recent months. Although OnePlus hasn’t emphasized the feature, it will have a comparable feature to the one that OPPO debuted with the Find N5.
For macro, Google’s strategy seems to mix the use of both telephoto and ultrawide cameras. The Pixel 10 may automatically select the superior choice based on your distance from the topic. By doing this, frequent problems in macro photography, including shadows or blocked lighting when the camera is too close, may be avoided.
There is also additional benefit to using the telephoto lens for macro photography. Better optics are typically found in telephoto sensors, which can produce images that are sharper and more detailed. It may be simpler to photograph objects like insects if you can stand a bit further away from them so as not to disturb them or obstruct the light.
The Pixel 10 is anticipated to undergo a number of upgrades, including this new camera configuration. It has been previously rumored, though not confirmed, that Google intends to reveal the Pixel 10 range on August 20. Full availability is expected to begin on August 28. Although that is one week later than the Pixel 9 announcement from the previous year, the postponement might enable the simultaneous shipping of all four Pixel 10 versions.
According to reports, the Pixel 10 will also feature a new range of color choices. Ultra Blue, Limoncello, Iris, and Midnight are possible colors for the regular model. Smoky Green, Midnight, Light Porcelain, and Sterling Gray will be available for the Pro and Pro XL models. Only Smoky Green and Sterling Gray may be available for the Pro Fold.
If this feature materializes, it will provide the Pixel 10 with a practical utility without increasing the number of sensors or cost. As a result, it’s a wise decision that enhances the phone’s image quality for daily use.
