It’s a pleasure to speak with you Izabellah – we’re looking forward to the release of “Mirror Says.”
Q: “Mirror Says” is featured in the upcoming film, “Mi Loca Quinceañera,” and will be both placed and synced. How did this collaboration with Magic Camera Productions come about, and what was your reaction when you learned your song would be part of the film?
When Magic Camera Productions approached us about syncing “Mirror Says” for *Mi Loca Quinceañera*, we were thrilled—they’d been drawn to the song’s message of self-confidence and identity, which aligns perfectly with the film’s story. Hearing our track woven into key emotional moments in the movie was such an honor—we couldn’t believe our song would help bring those scenes to life!
Q: How do you feel “Mirror Says” enhances or connects with the themes and narrative of “Mi Loca Quinceañera”?
“Mirror Says” really ties into the heart of *Mi Loca Quinceañera*—it’s about self-discovery, confidence, and embracing who you are, which are all major themes in the show. The song mirrors the main character’s journey as she learns to trust herself and step into her own power, making it a perfect fit emotionally and narratively.
Q: Given the themes of self-image and inner dialogue in “Mirror Says,” what advice would you offer to young people grappling with their own self-perception?
“Mirror Says” highlights how our inner dialogue can distort our self-image, often making us overly critical of ourselves. My advice to young people is to challenge negative self-talk, practice self-kindness, and remember that true worth comes from within, not just from outward appearances. Self-acceptance takes time, so be patient and gentle with yourself along the way.
Q: As a rising singer-songwriter, who are some of your biggest inspirations in the music industry, particularly those known for their storytelling or evocative lyrics?
Some of my biggest inspirations in the music industry include Megan Moroney, whose storytelling through her songs really resonates with me. I admire how she weaves personal experiences into her music, creating authentic and relatable tracks that connect with listeners on a deeper level.
Q: What has been the most surprising or rewarding aspect of your journey as a singer-songwriter so far?
I think the most surprising part of my singing journey has been seeing how people connect with and respond to my songs. It’s amazing to watch listeners find their own meaning in my music and share how it resonates with their experiences.

Q: For those new to your music, what song from your existing discography would you recommend they listen to first to get a sense of your artistic style and message?
Out of the two songs I have out so far, I’d recommend checking out “Fake Friends” if you want to get a sense of my style and the message I like to share. “Mirror Says” is a bit softer and shows a different side of my music, but both tracks reflect who I am as an artist.
Q: Beyond “Mirror Says,” what can fans expect next from Izabellah Rae Diez in terms of new music? Are there any other singles or an album in the works?
Right now, we’re focused on writing and releasing a few singles and are really excited to see where they take us. We also have several songs featured in the soundtrack of *Mi Loca Quinceañera*, so be sure to keep an eye out for that!
Q: You’ve mentioned additional film projects are on the horizon. Can you share any hints or details about what those might entail?
There are a few exciting possibilities on the horizon, including talks about a cheer movie, which I’m really looking forward to. But for now, our main focus is on music and continuing to grow in that space.
Q: Are there plans for live performances to support the release of “Mirror Says”? If so, what kind of live experience can audiences anticipate?
At the moment, we don’t have any live performances scheduled, but that could always change—so definitely stay tuned!
