NASA to provide Rochester sports tech firm a boost

GoRout is the maker of an on-field, in-helmet heads up PC display and communications system for football helmets. It’s situated in downtown Rochester.

Mike Rolih is the founder and CEO.

NASA sponsors a technology competition called NASA iTech and GoRout was named as one of 10 finalists today.

“NASA iTech challenges entrepreneurs to think outside the box and consider applications for their innovations in space. A range of technology ideas, from new mixed reality headsets to deployable antennas, could support future exploration missions to the Moon and Mars,” as indicated by the declaration.

GoRout will exhibit its business strategy, alongside the other nine finalists, to the “chief technologists from various NASA centers, other federal agencies and industry” at the iTech forum in Sunnyvale, Calif. on July 10 and July 11. The judges will at that point pick three victors of the 2019 NASA iTech Cycle I competition.

The three winning groups will get proceeded with mentorship to help further build up their technologies. No cash will be awarded.
