Passion Is What That Drives My Work, says Charn Kamal Singh Virdi

Photographs are the universal language of our era. Everyone has hundreds, maybe thousands in their pocket. The people who make up today’s thriving photographic community are our eyes to the world. Whether established artists and journalists or passionate emerging voices, they inform us, they inspire us, they amaze us, they put our world in the broader context of history. But that community also faces great challenges; dwindling sales, increased competition, and a fragile trust in photographers’ mission to inform. Too often, those factors can make those of us in that community, photographers and photo editors alike, lose sight of what drives us.

Charn Kamal Singh Virdi is an ambitious, young photographer, with stars in his eyes, who has been gaining popularity in the world of photography quite rapidly. Photos play a significant role and people who devote their lives doing this are significant as they are the ones who show the world to us from just a single picture whilst capturing the beauty of it. Charn Kamal Singh Virdi’s primary interest in photography was always in Automotive photography, but he also specializes in Automotive, Landscape, Interior, Food & Lifestyle Photography. He has been carefully honing his craft as a Director of Photography as well. He has so far successfully launched a few beautifully directed videos of many popular chartbusters. Expert Jatt by Nawab, Outfit by Guru Randhawa, Ferrari by Sukhi Sidhu Ft. Preet Hundal, Suicide Figure by Sukh E JSwag are only a few to name.

Hailing from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, with more than 6 years of expertise in this fleeting arena of photography, he believes automation is the best artist and engine are the precious little creations that fill the canvas with the beauty of technology. He is always eager to learn something new and constantly hopes to bring something special in his works, something that speaks to the people. Furthermore, as it is valid for a wide range of photography styles, the additional time a picture taker goes through with the subjects, the more private and special the pictures will end up being. According to him “There are several factors involved in making a good picture – lighting, color tone.

A good picture puts you in a particular moment in time – when it intrigues a viewer keeping them captivated. It is simply the ability to visualize emotion through your lens.” When asked about how he manages to stay relevant in this ever-evolving profession, Charn Kamal Singh Vridi added “It is good to keep up and learn about different techniques while shooting however upgrading your current equipment, in my opinion, should be done when it really could help you unlock your creative potential – for instance, you can cook using your stove but not necessarily an expensive stove cooks a better meal.”
