Pixel Camera 9.8 patch update is released by Google

Google is releasing Pixel Camera 9.8, which is expected to fix a few problems. This is the Pixel 9a’s first patch since its release last week.

Like all other Google devices, the Pixel 9a was running version 9.8.102.732237915.11 following last week’s updates.

Today, 9.8.102.748116395.16 is available for download in the Play Store as a little 3 MB file for all 9a owners.

The message “Move back to improve focus” appeared for certain users when the new Macro Focus failed to activate. Instead of being able to be turned on, off, or auto in quick settings, it is now integrated into the main (wide) camera focusing, unlike earlier models (“Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 9 and later”). The sunflower emblem appears in the upper-left corner, and it only activates when you are five centimeters or less away from an object.

Additionally, there is a problem with the selfie camera preview flickering in dim light. Your real photos are unaffected.

With a few minor adjustments, Google published Pixel Camera 9.8 in March. The last version, which was released in December, added Quick Access controls.

The Pixel 9a has the Connected Cameras feature, which was launched with the March 2025 Pixel Feature Drop, even though it is running Android 15 QPR1.
