The Grounded Glamour of Leia Goldstein: A Teen Star on a Mission

The Grounded Glamour of Leia Goldstein: A Teen Star on a Mission

At just 13 years old, Leia Goldstein is more than a rising star in the fast-paced world of modeling and social media; she’s a voice for her generation. In an exclusive interview, the young model opens up about the challenges and triumphs of navigating a public career while staying true to herself. From her memorable first photoshoot to her personal advocacy for mental health, Goldstein offers a refreshingly honest look at her life, sharing how her family, passions, and commitment to kindness keep her grounded amidst the whirlwind of fame. Her insights prove that age is just a number when it comes to making a difference.

How do you stay grounded while working in such a fast-paced industry at only 13?

Even though I’m only 13, staying grounded is really important to me. I always keep my family and my closest friends, especially the ones who knew me before any of this started, close to me. They treat me exactly the same, no matter what, and I love that.  My mom has always taught me that no one is better than anyone else, and I think that’s something really important to remember in this industry. I also make time for things I love outside of modeling and social media, like dance and gymnastics. Those are the things that make me feel like a regular kid. It can definitely feel fast-paced sometimes, but I try to take everything one step at a time and always remember who I am beyond all of this.

What has been your most memorable shoot or modeling experience so far?

One of my most memorable shoots was definitely my very first photo shoot for Teen Vibes Magazine! It was such an exciting experience because everything was so new to me. I honestly had no idea what I was doing and just kind of winged it! But from the moment I arrived, the Teen Vibes Collective felt like a family. Even though it was our first time meeting, everyone was so warm, welcoming, and helpful! I remember feeling a mix of nerves and excitement at first, but once I got comfortable, I had the best time. That shoot really showed me how fun and supportive this world can be! I left that shoot thinking, “Okay… I could totally get used to this!”

How would you describe your personal style in three words?

I’d say my style is trendy, fun, and a little edgy! I love keeping up with all the latest outfit trends on social media, but I also like stepping out of the box with bold, unexpected looks, especially when I’m modeling. That’s when I get to wear things I wouldn’t normally pick for everyday life, and it’s always so fun! One minute I’m in a cozy sweatsuit, and the next I’m totally glammed up. I love switching it up and expressing myself through fashion!

Why is mental health awareness important to you at this point in your life and career?

Mental health is something I care about a lot, especially after seeing so many young people around me struggling, and sadly, even losing their lives. It’s a huge reminder that we never truly know what someone else is going through. That’s why I think being kind is everything. Even the smallest gesture, like a smile, a compliment, or just checking in, can completely turn someone’s day or life around. It doesn’t take much to show someone you care, and honestly, it could mean more than you know. If you have the chance to make someone feel seen or supported, always take it!

How do you manage stress or pressure as a young performer in the public eye?

Being in the public eye at a young age definitely comes with some pressure, but I try not to let it get to me. I always remind myself that it’s okay not to be perfect, because nobody is! Every day is a chance to grow, and I’m still learning so much. I’m really lucky to have such a strong support system. My family and friends always help me stay grounded and calm when things feel overwhelming. I also turn to the things I love, like gymnastics and dance. Training helps me clear my mind and reconnect with what makes me feel most like me. Staying close to the people and passions that keep you grounded is super important.

What message do you hope your advocacy work sends to others your age?

I hope my advocacy for mental health helps other kids my age know that it’s totally okay to not be okay and that talking about your feelings doesn’t make you weak, it actually makes you strong. Social media can make it feel like you have to be perfect all the time, but that’s just not real life. We all go through tough stuff, and you’re never alone. Asking for help is brave, and your friends and family care more than you think, even if it doesn’t always feel that way. I also think it’s super important to lift each other up, because a little bit of kindness can seriously change someone’s day. If anything I say or do helps even one person feel more seen or understood, that means the world to me.

Is there a moment or story that made your commitment to advocacy even stronger?

Yes, there’s one moment I’ll never forget!  After I shared one of my very first posts about a hard time I went through, a kid reached out to tell me that my words really helped them. That honestly meant so much to me. It made me realize how powerful our voices can be, no matter how young we are. It also reminded me that a lot of people feel the same things, even if they don’t talk about it. From that moment on, I felt even more committed to speaking up and using my voice to support others, especially anyone going through something tough. You never know who might need to hear that they’re not alone.

If you could collaborate with any fashion brand or dance company—who would it be?

If I could collaborate with any fashion brand, it would definitely be Louis Vuitton,100%! I’m obsessed with their bags, belts, and jewelry, and I feel like their style matches mine perfectly. A collab with them would be a total dream come true… and let’s be real, who wouldn’t want to model in a full LV look?

What advice would you give to other kids who want to follow in your footsteps?

My advice is to believe in yourself, even when others don’t. This industry can be tough and not everyone will cheer you on, but that’s when it’s most important to stay focused, work hard, and keep going. Don’t let anyone’s doubts become your reality.  Stay true to who you are, and never let negativity stop you from chasing your dreams. I’ve been told to give up before, but I kept pushing and now I’m living a dream I couldn’t have imagined. If I can do it, so can you. You are stronger than you think!

What are your biggest dreams for the next few years?

My biggest dream is to keep following this amazing path and growing in everything I love like modeling, acting, gymnastics, and dance. There’s still so much I want to learn and improve on, and I’m really excited for that journey. I’m super proud of how far I’ve come, but I know this is just the beginning! I would also like to gain more partnerships with some really amazing brands.  I love creating content and working with brands I love is incredible!
