Whit3 Boy brings in big first week numbers with ‘Papa Green’ album

October 24th, 2019 — (Melbourne, AU) — Today marks three weeks after the official release for the new album “Papa Green”
by Whit3 Boy.

The 20 year old rapper has been cited by local media as a Melbourne prodigy in the making, despite his New Zealand roots.

Whit3 Boy has been staying busy in 2019, collaborating with fellow Australasian artists on a lot of releases and now his new album ‘Papa Green’, an album inspired by how money can ruin lives but also make them better. Showing songs from multiple perspectives, for example politicians, drug dealers, the “working man”, hitmen etc…

The 12 track album is the Melbourne rapper’s much anticipated third studio album. It features Whit3 Boy’s two break out singles ‘Stash (feat. Jordan Lindsay)’ and ‘Buried (feat. Daniel Elia)’.

Both of these tracks had made it onto Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday AU/NZ’ playlist, giving Whit3 Boy and his collaborators some much deserved exposure.

Much of the production was collaborative as Whit3 Boy worked with around 5 producers to bring this project to life, notably up and coming producer Godzart and frequent collaborator Z.Will along with local producer Eric B.

Whit3 Boy drew inspiration from a lot of different places while making this album, fans of ScHoolboy Q, J. Cole, Travis Scott, Logic and Kendrick Lamar may find a song or two that they like on Papa Green. The production palette that Whit3 Boy brings to the table is certainly diverse to say the least.

The cover art draws inspiration from the Grand Theft Auto game series as well as real life scandals surrounding politicians.

‘Papa Green’ has had an overall positive reception, even making it onto the radar of major radio station ‘Triple J’.

Dave Ruby Howe of Triple J had this to say about the track ‘Buried (feat. Daniel Elia)’

– “Classic feels from this beat mixed with that new school energy in the bars. Good moves from Whit3 Boy and Daniel Elia on the feature!”

The album was already a bestselling pre-order weeks before its release and landed at the number #6 spot on the top 40 AU Hip-Hop albums on release day. The release also racked up a whopping 85,000+ first week streams and was featured on Spotify’s New Releases above huge names like DaBaby, Lil Tecca, JPEGMAFIA and more.

The album has been released on every major streaming service/store. “Papa Green” is available to Stream/Purchase here:
