“We want to show the world that yes, we are the new ‘IT’ girl group!!”
Eighteen year old singer Keturah speaks with well-earned confidence as one of the 5 girls who make up new R&B girl group YNG WMXN, brought together by the Talent Manager/A&R Kharmony Fortune.
The quintet, made up of singer/artists Harley, Mari, DéLon, Aiyanna, and Keturah, is not only debuting their brand new single NVRLND, but an accompanying music video as well. Originally appearing in the dramedy/fantasy show The Mels, NVRLND has evolved from an in-episode powerful acapella dance piece to an enchanting stand-alone R&B anthem and captivating music video.
“The song describes a dream world where you can do what you love to do,” Aiyanna describes their debut single, “where everything you wish comes true. And it’s a bop!”
These 5 young womxn, in addition to R&B artist Anisa, have been working long and hard for their debut. Keturah notes the hard work that went into capturing the essence of NVRLND: “We had days where we kept messing up and had to change some of the dance moves. During recording, we’d stay up all night until the next morning just making sure that we nailed our parts down.”
During the creative process, YNG WMXN was met with not only support from each other but their entire creative team. In regards to working on set, singer Aiyanna says, “I absolutely loved it! The set, wardrobe, and crew members were so professional and prompt with everything.”
YNG WMXN’s enchanting debut single is backed by Lynniah Herron’s lyrics and multi-platinum writer/producer Dem Jointz in addition to a skilled creative team behind their music video. They are currently working on their EP.
