HMD Global Unveils New Smartphone Line, Moves Away from Nokia: Details Inside

Switching from Nokia, HMD Global unveiled their smartphone range. The Finnish smartphone manufacturer has unveiled the first three models in its Pulse series: Pulse, Pulse Plus, and Pulse Pro. Every device in the Pulse range is designed to be repairable, according to HMD. Owners of Pulse devices will be able to replace a broken display, bent charging port, or low battery without needing an engineering degree, according to HMD’s partnership with third-party repair platform iFixit.

HMD Pulse Series: Accessible Models

In the upcoming months, Europe will have access to HMD Global’s Pulse series. HMD intends to introduce its smartphones with the Vibe brand in the US market. Following their initial launch, all three smartphones are anticipated to make their market debut in India.

HMD Pulse Series: Specifics

The three smartphones in the series feature 6.65-inch HD+ displays with a refresh rate of 90Hz and are powered by the Unisoc T606 chipset. The flagship Pulse Pro model comes with 6GB RAM, while the Pulse and Pulse Plus smartphones only have 4GB RAM available. Nevertheless, 64GB of storage is only available for the base model. There is a 128GB onboard storage option available for the Plus and Pro models.

All models in the HMD Pulse series come with a 5,000mAh battery as standard; Pulse and Pulse Plus support 10W charging, while Pulse Pro offers 20W wired charging.

The Pulse smartphone from HMD has a 13-megapixel primary camera sensor on the back, while the Pulse+ and Pulse Pro smartphones have a 50MP main camera sensor. A 2 MP depth sensor is another feature of the Pro model. The Pro model has a 50MP camera sensor up front, while the base model and the Plus model have an 8MP camera.

HMD Emotion: Specifics

Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 is anticipated to power the HMD Vibe, a device that will only be available in the US. Expected to have a 6.65-inch HD+ display with a refresh rate of 90Hz, the HMD Vibe will resemble smartphones in the Pulse series. Rear-facing 13MP camera and 4,000mAh battery are expected to be features of the smartphone.
