Interview of Helia Khazaei, a successful Iranian comic artist and actress, about her charitable contributions

Hi Heliya, I am interviewing you about your charity activities.  Can you tell us about them?

Heliya: Yes, I am currently running a campaign to raise money for orphaned children in critical situations.  I try to help these children to have a better life.

  1. How do you make these contributions?

Heliya: I send the collected money to hospitals and care centers for orphaned children.  Also, at special times, like Eid, I send these children gifts to make them happy and feel that they are not alone.

  1. Can you share your experiences in these activities for others who want to participate?

Heliya: Yes, I advise anyone who wants to do charity work to first get to know the homeless children in their community and understand their needs.  This will help you find the best ways to help them.  Also, you should always keep in mind that charity is not only during Eid holidays, but you can always help homeless children.

  1. What connected you to this charity activity?

Heliya: I have always been sympathetic to children and I want to help them have a better life.  As I learn more about these children, I feel compelled to help them and make a difference in their lives.

  1. Do you need the cooperation of others to run this campaign?

Heliya: Yes, we need the cooperation of others for the success of this campaign.  I managed to implement this campaign by dividing the work with my friends and colleagues.  Also, I request people who want to help to join us and help us in this charity activity.

  1. Can you tell us about your experience of taking care of 30 children?

Heliya: Yes, I have been the guardian of 30 homeless children.  I have to take on many responsibilities and always be there for them and respond to their needs.  This experience has changed me a lot and I understand better how to help children who have grown up in an unsafe environment.
