Italian holidaymakers up 6% in 2018

(ANSA) – Rome, January 7 – A study released on Monday by business association Confturismo and the Istituto Piepoli market-research agency said that more than seven of every 10 Italians went on vacation in 2018, up 6% on the previous year. It said that 24% of individuals interviewed said they spent more on vacations last year than in 2017, while simply 12% said they spent less.

The poll suggested that 2019 could be shockingly better for the travel industry in Italy than 2018.

It likewise said that Italian destinations were preferred by 80% of thepeople planning to go on vacation in the coming months.
