The next flagship processor from US-based Qualcomm was unveiled in India today: the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. Strong generative AI on-device functionalities are supported by the chipset.
With a different clock speed, the strong Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset powers the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which shares the same architecture. The 4 nm technology is the foundation for the chipset, which supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 5, LPDDR5X memory, and UFS 4.0 storage in addition to 144Hz Quad HD+ display compatibility.
Features of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3
Eight cores total—four performance cores clocked at 2.8 GHz, three efficiency cores clocked at 2.0 GHz, and a Prime Core clocked at 3.0 GHz—are present in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.
For on-device generative AI, the chipset allows up to 10 billion parameters. It enables multi-modal models, such as more than 30 large language models (LLMs) and large vision models (LVMs).
With real-time hardware-accelerated Ray Tracing and other Snapdragon Elite Gaming technologies, Qualcomm that the chipset will provide a “hyper-realistic” gaming experience.
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3’s optics include Qualcomm Spectra Triple Cognitive ISP and support a 200MP camera.
The chipset has Qualcomm Aqstic Speaker Max Technology, Qualcomm aptX Lossless, Qualcomm aptX Sound Suite, and LE Audio with Auracast broadcast audio. It also supports lossless high-definition sound.
The Poco F6 will be India’s first Smartphone to use the Processor
The Poco F6 smartphone will be the first to use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 CPU in India, despite the fact that firms like Xiaomi and Realme have previously introduced handsets with this chipset outside of the country.
On May 23, the Poco F6 is expected to go on sale in India. Poco announced during the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3m launch ceremony that the Poco F6 will be the nation’s first smartphone to use the technology.
