Tata Motors Introduces Affordable Tata Nexon Smart+ AMT Variant

New AMT versions of Tata Motors’ Nexon compact SUV have been added to the model lineup, which was already quite large. As of right now, the Smart+ trim of the Nexon petrol-AMT costs Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), while the Pure trim of the diesel-AMT variant costs Rs 11.80 lakh. When the Nexon was first introduced, the entry-level diesel-AMT model cost Rs 13 lakh, while the most economical petrol-AMT model cost Rs 11.70 lakh (both based on the mid-spec Creative trim).

Key features of the Tata Nexon AMT

The standard Nexon Smart+ model comes equipped with LED daytime running lamps, a 7-inch touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four speakers, drive modes, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, six airbags, an ESC, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Features like full-LED headlamps and tail lamps, wheel covers, touch-based HVAC controls, rear AC vents, knitted roof liner, a 4-inch digital instrument cluster, and voice commands are added with the Pure trim. In the meantime, an electrochromic rearview mirror, automatic headlamps and wipers, and a sunroof are added to the Pure S.

Specifics of the Tata Nexon AMT’s powertrain

A 1.5-liter diesel engine with 260 Nm and a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine with 120 horsepower and 170 Nm powers the Nexon. Depending on the version, the gasoline can be had with a 6-speed AMT, a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox (with paddle shifters). In the meantime, 6-speed manual and AMT gearboxes are available for the diesel.

Rivals of Tata Nexon AMT

The Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite are among the rival small SUVs to which the Tata Nexon belongs.
