When Jaya was informed that Amitabh Bachchan is “clinically dead,” only her prayers may revive him: I was holding a Hanuman Chalisa

Amitabh Bachchan started moving after doctors gave up on him, according to Jaya Bachchan. He suffered a serious injury while playing Coolie sets.

The biggest injury that the seasoned actor Amitabh Bachchan sustained was when he hurt himself while filming Coolie. He was taken to a hospital where, after many surgeries, he remained in a coma and did not respond to therapy. He was even briefly deemed to be “clinically dead” before being placed on the ventilator. Jaya Bachchan once recalled the terrifying incident and said the doctor advised her to pray for him as there was no other course of action.

On August 2, 1982, Amitabh Bachchan suffered an injury while filming Coolie during a difficult action scene. On the Bangalore University campus, he was filming a fight scene with actor Puneet Issar when he misjudged a jump and hurt his abdomen. He suffered severe internal bleeding and haemorrhaging as a result.

In 1973, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan exchanged vows. Daughter Shweta Bachchan and son, actor Abhishek Bachchan, are their two children. On Saturday, Jaya and Amitabh will commemorate 50 years of marriage.
