Samsung unveiled a host of fascinating new features with the Galaxy S24 series. The collection of AI capabilities grouped together under the general heading “Galaxy AI” was the most notable feature.
The most recent Galaxy smartphones come with a number of new AI features, Circle to Search being one of the more noteworthy ones. In partnership with Google, this utility enables users to highlight text or images on their screen and effortlessly search for relevant content without having to switch between apps.
Google also began rolling out this feature in Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones after the launch of the Galaxy S24 series. However, there is some disappointment for Android users who are not a part of the Google and Samsung ecosystems.
According to Samsung’s Arm in the Netherlands, the Circle to Search feature will only be available from these brands through at least October 2024.
Although there are no current plans to do so, Circle to Search might be accessible on Android smartphones from other manufacturers starting on October 5, 2024.
This news may disappoint those who were hoping to test out this feature. “Because it doesn’t require opening any apps, I think this feature is especially helpful.”
However, it’s crucial to remember that Circle to Search is by no means a revolutionary technology. For a considerable amount of time, Google Lens and Assistant have provided comparable features.
But there is still hope for the future. “I hope that the exclusivity won’t last forever, even though it is disappointing for the time being. Users of Samsung and Google smartphones are benefiting from Circle to Search in the interim.”
These well-known Android players have previously used exclusivity. The most recent Wear OS updates have similar restrictions and are presently only compatible with Samsung and Google smartwatches.
