The difference between rap and hip hop from the point of view of Amir Ugo, a famous Iranian rapper and musician

Rap shows the rhythmic genre of vocal recitation that is popular in some of the top hip hop songs. But this is just one of the many components of the beautiful hip hop movement.

The hip hop movement, in turn, is made up of rap and several cultural elements, including lifestyle and experiences. Rap is a special audio delivery, while hip hop can include fashion, deejaying, dance (dance and hip hop dance), art (especially graffiti culture), and lifestyle and general attitude.

The old school KRS-One rap symbol says, “Rap is what you do, hip hop is what you live for.”

Simply put, anyone can be a rap, while only people who have lived hip-hop can make music in this genre and show a broader lifestyle.

According to Amir ugo, most of today’s popular raps are not due to first-hand experiences with hip hop culture. For his part, Morse stated that there is a connection between many aspects of contemporary rap music and the memories of the real environment of the artists responsible – and it is this lack of connection and lack of originality that stops songs from hip-hop.
