The Newest Gaming Phone from ASUS Is Lighter and Thinner Than Before at CES 2024

ASUS unveiled a number of products at CES 2024, including new PC parts that are intended to simplify PC construction even further. The introduction of its ROG Phone 8 series, which combines the potent gaming potential of the ROG lineup with lighter, slimmer designs, was arguably one of the most exciting announcements.

Gamers will be able to select precisely which level they want to invest in with the launch of the ROG Phone 8 series, which comes in regular and Pro editions. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 running at 3.3 GHz and up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM will be featured in both devices. The two smartphones will ship with ROG UI and Android 14 out of the box, and options for 12GB of RAM will also be available.

The maximum storage capacity for the ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro is 256GB and 512GB, respectively. A 6.78-inch FHD+ Samsung Flexible AMOLED display with 2400 x 1080 pixels will be featured on each one. These screens have a maximum brightness of 1,600 nits, a maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz, a minimum refresh rate of 1 Hz, and support for HDR10.

With a maximum battery capacity of 5,500 mAh, these new gaming-focused phones will also support PD charging and quick charge 5.0, which should provide plenty of juice, even when you’re gaming.

Additionally, ASUS is incorporating a 3X telephoto lens into the ROG Phone for the first time, and it has an OIS built in to help you take crisp pictures. In addition to the 13 MP ultra-wide camera, the ROG Phone 8 will also have a 50 MP primary camera with a Sony image sensor. The 32 MP ultra-wide selfie camera on the device should, at the very least, be more than capable of producing excellent selfies.

The Pro Edition of the ROG Phone, which has 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, will also be released by ASUS. The rear of both the top-tier ROG Phone models will have LED dot-matrix displays. The least expensive model will start at $1,099.99, while the most expensive model, the Pro Edition, will have a top price of $1,499.99. The prices of the various models will differ.

AI-generated wallpapers and other AI features that can facilitate more effective text and game capture are also included in the ROG Phone 8 series. The ROG Phone 8 is, as usual, primarily focused on giving you a fantastic mobile gaming platform to work with; however, ASUS has added a few extra features, such as the new telephoto lens, to help it stand up to more popular smartphones, like the Pixel 8 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
