Vaidya – the upcoming short film experiences the change in post production team

Vaidya – the upcoming short film by Harsh Agarwal featuring Ronit Agrawal and Puneet Mishra is an experimental short film about Kabir (Puneet Mishra) visiting a beach town and accidentally meeting Vaidya (Ronit Agrawal) and what unfolds between the two ahead. The film promises to create a cocktail of romance and drama for the viewers.

Originally, Iqbal Darbar was signed for the music but recently, young and emerging composer Himanshu Dahiya was brought on board to compose the music of the film.

I was actually approached by Ronit when the producers were looking for another composer. I was initially hesitant because I was not involved from the beginning. But I saw a few cuts and read the script and loved the sentiment the movie was carrying. The message was simple and beautiful and the tracks were already playing in my mind. I kept the music simple & subtle – adding to the vibe of the film.”

Additionally Mohosin Shaikh who is a cinematographer & Documentary Director and has worked with Film Bazaar and Cinemas of India, joined the team for the final edit of the film.

“Rahul Tiwari had already done a great job at the edit. However, having Mohosin was a great value addition since we needed a fresh set of eyes to make the final edits. His past experience proved to be extremely useful and we are now very close to the final. This has of course caused more delays but we feel they are worth it.” Said the director and LGBTQ activist Sumit Pawar.

About the release, the film is reported to be having a world premiere with a noted film festival in India. However, the name of the festival was not revealed yet. About being released on OTT platforms, producer Harsh Agarwal said,

“We were in conversation with a major OTT platform but they were not confident because the film involves a romantic relationship between two men. They were worried of the outrage they might receive from the public and any legal issues that they might be drawn in. OTT platforms, honestly, is the only space left where bold and fresh stories could be told through independent cinema; such platforms receding is not a great sign. We are hopeful others won’t see it as an issue.” You can get more information on the short film here : https://www.facebook.com/VaidyaFilm/
