Anupam Kher urges that rumours about Satish Kaushik’s death not be spread: “He needs a respectful exit,”

Anupam Kher requested that no one make assumptions about Satish Kaushik’s reason of death at the prayer gathering for him. On March 9, he passed away following a heart attack.

The cinema community came at Satish Kaushik’s Mumbai residence a week and a half after his passing to offer their condolences to his family. Anupam Kher, a close friend and work colleague of Satish, was also present with his family to supervise the meeting on Monday. He also spoke to the journalists present and requested them to refrain from making any assumptions about the late actor’s cause of death. He requested everyone to give Satish a “dignified exit” especially on the day of the prayer meet.

Anupam stood next to Satish Kaushik’s wife Shahi Kaushik and his 10-year-old daughter Vanshika Kaushik at the prayer meeting in case they needed anything. Members of the film and TV industry including actors Tannishtha Chatterjee, Vidya Balan, Gulshan Grover, Maniesh Paul, Padmini Kohlapure, Tanvi Azmi, Jackie Shroff, Pankaj Kapur, Supriya Pathak and Moushumi Chatterjee, producers Boney Kapoor, Ramesh Taurani and Ashoke Pandit, filmmakers David Dhawan, Abbas Mastan, Vivek Agnihotri, comedian Sunil Pal, cinematographer Baba Azmi and lyricist Javed Akhtar all stopped by Satish’s home to pay their respects.

Anupam is also acting in Kaagaz 2, the final movie Satish directed before his passing. The last time we saw the actor was in the comedy Shiv Shastri Balboa with Neena Gupta.
